  • Professional Development (PD) for Educators: Professional development is the key to student success. Due to the mounting responsibilities of principals, PD for teachers is often overlooked or organized at the last minute. AnchorED will plan and/or facilitate PD to provide staff with scientific research; evidence-based methodologies, practices, strategies, and interventions; and explain how one becomes a diagnostic decision-maker.  By bringing foundational principles of neuroscience into the classroom, educators can work smarter and not harder, once they understand fundamental truths -connecting the mind, brain, and learning. Neuroscience helps teachers understand the tools and strategies in their tool box. They need to know the when, where, how, why, and which tool to use in order to be the most effective.

  • Early Literacy Classes for Parents, Daycare & Preschool Teachers: These workshop(s) provide: (a) a basic understanding of neuroscience and brain development of young children; (b) how the brain learns to read; (c) how to identify struggling readers through the use of screeners and other tools; (d) evidence-based interventions; and (e) resources for additional, in depth training.

  • Curriculum Writing and/or Training: Most educators are unaware that there are various types of curriculum: formal, written, supplemental, learned, assessed, latent, and enriched. The scientific-design of the written curriculum is essentials for one to teach to the margins. Furthermore, there must be an understanding of accommodations, modifications, remediation, interventions, and how to maintain the protections of ADA, teach with rigor to uphold the purpose of IDEA and ESSA for students with IEPs and 504s. Training for the curriculum team and consultations during the writing process, ensures that the written curriculum incorporates Universal Design for Learning (UDL), which is now law of the land for all students. Too often it is the curriculum failing the student, not the student, who is failing.

  • Educational Leaders Workshops: Educational leaders need to remember that their teachers are their students. AnchorED will help guide leaders to develop a three year plan for PD by:  helping leaders understand the needs of their teachers, where to find the latest research on neuroscience and its implications for learning, the difference between causation, and how to design effective PD that is the most effective in bringing about the desired changes. There are foundational principles of neuroscience that all leaders should know; however, trainings are then differentiated according to the level of the individuals. Due to brain development, social/emotional issues, skills and knowledge students must acquires - trainings are differentiated to for preschool, primary/elementary, middle school, high school, college educational leaders. There are simple solutions to issues facing schools today. The good news is that through the intentional implementation of: (a) the use of scientific research; (b) diagnostic and analytical processes; and (c) basic and mind/brain/learning principles coupled with the knowledge of: (a) the difference between causation and correlation; (b) evidence-based v. research based; and (c) and understanding of aspects of the law will help to optimize PD. Leaders will also learn how to utilize technology to work smarter and not harder.

  • Nutrigenomics  is a groundbreaking new science to help people biohack a healthier life. By studying the effects of nutrients and natural compounds on our genes, we’re creating scientifically-backed products that support cognitive health and promote healthy aging on the cellular level. These Nutrigenomic products support the body’s natural cellular function by targeting the main biochemical effects of aging, issues like oxidative stress, natural mitochondrial deterioration and more. By awakening your body’s ability to rejuvenate itself on a massive scale — whether by up-regulating your genes’ ability to produce their own antioxidants, your cells‘ ability to produce mitochondria, or your guts’ ability to regulate bacteria — we’re helping you stay on top of the aging process while delivering the mental clarity and overall well-being you need every day to get the absolute most out of life.

About AnchorED

My 360 Degree Perspective of the Educational World

People's perspective limits what is seen because they view a situation from an isolated, singular angle. God orchestrated my life, that I experienced  struggles from all angles.

Personally: At the age of 47 I discovered that I was dyslexic. It explained my struggles throughout school and areas that I continue to struggled. It takes me five to ten times longer to complete a task than my peers. Then, the judgement for misspellings or errors. An educator with a doctorate making such careless mistakes, chalking them up to laziness.

Parent: My son has ASD, dysgraphia, and dyslexia.

Middle School Teacher: I taught middle school for 17 years an witness the angst of intelligent students who hated school and reading. I taught primary school and saw the joy of learning for all children.

Primary School Teacher

Professional Development Facilitator:

Professor of Curriculum in a Graduate School of Education

Wilson Reading Practitioner

Currently, I am a curriculum designer and graduate school professor, a dyslexia practitioner, educational consultant, professional development provider, and a special education advocate.

These experiences have provided me with a panoramic view of the issues students, parents, and teachers face. Additionally, it have provided me insight on the practices of schools which cause students to fall through the cracks.

We rise by lifting each other up.

There is no greater joy than to help others through a Vacuum Moment, teaching them how to break the chains of fear, empowering them through knowledge,  being the voice for those that cannot speak for themselves in order to unleash human potential.

It is a privilege to serve others, who are lost in a sea of despair and watch them find their warrior from within and their voice.

Each day, trying to be the change I want to see in the world, remembering, every interaction we have with others either gives or sucks energy.

Nothing is worse than the feeling of hopelessness. When your soul is tired. When life turns it's back on you, your world is turned upside down, and there is no sense of normalcy.

Today's culture permits the unspoken if. Promises and commitments are fulfilled if it is convenient. Friends will help out if  they are not too tired.  People will support you and stand by your side if it does not cause them adversity.

  • We need to remember that we cannot judge people from exterior appearances. Many people are hurting but smile and suffer in silence.
  • We need to remember that our thoughts and mindset are important.
  • We need to remember that difficult times provide us with skills, knowledge, wisdom, and valuable lesson that equip us for the future.
  • We need to remember that when we are in the valleys of life, we need support.  Life was not meant to be done alone.
  • We need to remember that  tough times will not last.
  • We need to remember that we do not lose friends, but the hard times always reveal true friends.

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the pond and create a lot of ripples.  -Mother Teresa
